Description: Hyphae superficial, pale yellow, branched, septate, 1򉣸 祄 wide, abundant. Ascoma catathecioid, orbicular, scutate, scattered, 90120 祄 diam.; scutellum composed of an upper wall of radiating rows of brown quadrilateral cells 38 36 祄 and a similarly constructed lower wall of paler brown cells, those surrounding the ostiole forming a distinct collar of 36 ranks of dark brown thick-walled cells 23 23 祄, margin entire but sometimes sinuate; ostiole 1216 祄 diam., occluded by a plate of brown polygonal cells. Asci cylindrical to obclavate, 3038 68 祄, 8-spored. Ascospores hyaline, 1-septate, septum more or less median, fusiform to ellipsoid, 6򉣿 1򉣸 祄, appendages apparently absent
