Description: Hyphae superficial, pale yellow, branched, septate, 1򉣸 祄 wide. Ascoma catathecioid, orbicular, scutate, scattered, 8090 祄 diam.; scutellum composed of an upper wall of radiating rows of brown quadrilateral cells 35 24 祄 and a similarly constructed lower wall of paler brown cells, those surrounding the ostiole forming a distinct collar of 34 rows of dark brown thick-walled cells 1򉣸 1򉣸 祄, margin entire; ostiole 810 祄 diam., initially occluded by a plate of pale brown polygonal cells. Asci obclavate to obpyriform, 2532 6򉣾 祄, 4- to 8-spored. Ascospores hyaline, 1-septate, septum more or less median, ellipsoidal to somewhat narrowly obovoid, 811 1򉣹 祄, appendages apparently absent, guttules soon disappearing
