Taphrophila argyllensis Scheuer, Spooner & Wilberf., in Scheuer, Mycol. Res. 95(7): 813 (1991)

Description: Ascomata perithecioid, on sparse superficial mycelium, globose, yellow brown, 4080 m diam.; wall 79 m wide, cells 57 23 m; setae dark brown, non-septate, up to 40 m long, dichotmously branched distally and with acute tips; pseudoparaphyses straight, 1 m diam. Asci ellipsoid to somewhat ovoid, 3050 1114 m, bitunicate, 8-spored. Ascospores fusiform to somewhat clavate-fusiform, slightly curved, (23) 25-40 (41) 34 m, usually 7-septate, smooth, hyaline.
