Description: Hyphae olivaceous to brown, branched, septate, 12 m wide, abundant, superficial. Ascoma catathecioid, orbicular, scutate, gregarious, 180250 m diam.; scutellum composed of an upper layer of brown, irregularly lobed cells, forming a pale brown mycelial fringe at the margin, lower layer thin and indistinct; ostiole 1620 m diam.; pseudoparaphyses narrow, ca 05 m diam., branched, septate, evanescent. Asci 8-spored, cylindrical to obclavate, 4555 810 m. Ascospores fusiform, slightly curved and hence with unequal sides, hyaline, 1-septate, slightly constricted at the submedian septum, smooth, with 46 large, persistent guttules, sometimes giving the appearance of additional septa, 1622 355 m
