Description: Hyphae superficial, pale yellow, 15 m wide. Ascoma thyriothecioid, amphigenous, orbicular, up to 270 m diam.; scutellum composed of radiating rows of pale brown quadrilateral cells 254 35 m; those surrounding the ostiole not forming a distinct collar, those at the margin elongated, forming a slight fringe; ostiole 810 m diam. Asci numerous, cylindrical, 3656 89 m, 8-spored. Ascospores hyaline, 1-septate, ellipsoid, straight, 1114 2535 m, the upper cell slightly longer and broader than the lower cell, with four apical appendages about 10 m long
