Description: Hyphae olivaceous to brown, branched, septate, 12 m wide, abundant, superficial; forming intercalary, swollen cells resembling hyphododia. Ascoma catathecioid, orbicular, scutate, scattered, 120220 m diam.; scutellum composed of an upper layer of brown, sinuous, irregularly lobed cells, forming a pale brown irregular margin, lower layer thin and indistinct; ostiole 56 m diam.; pseudoparaphyses narrow, ca 05 m diam., branched, septate, evanescent. Asci 8-spored, cylindrical to obclavate, 2632 57 m. Ascospores ellipsoid, hyaline, 1-septate, slightly constricted at the submedian septum, upper cell sometimes wider than lower, smooth, with 4 small guttules which often persist, 8595 153 m
