Description: Hyphae superficial, pale yellow, 1–2 µm wide. Ascoma thyriothecioid, mainly epiphyllous, orbicular, up to 150 µm diam., sometimes confluent; scutellum composed of wavy radiating rows of pale brown, irregularly quadrilateral cells 2·5–4 × 3–6 µm; those surrounding the ostiole not forming a distinct collar, those at the margin elongated to form an irregular fringe; ostiole 6–8 µm diam. Asci numerous, cylindrical to obclavate, 28–32 × 8–11 µm, 8-spored. Ascospores hyaline, 1-septate, ellipsoidal, 8–11 × 2–3 µm, the upper cell longer and broader that the lower cell, bearing medianly six appendages in two tufts connected by a short dark thread, appendages longer than the spore
